Captain Will has been working, living, teaching, and exploring the world aboard sailing vessels for the last 18 years.  He currently lives in Belfast Maine and works as Sailing Master at Maine Maritime Academy where he graduated with a BS in Vessel Operations and a Minor in Sail Training in 2012.

Will’s passion for sailing began in 2006 when he got a job on a day sailing Schooner in Naples, Florida.  Ever since that first year working on a sailing vessel Will’s passion for sharing sailing with others has grown into a career.  After many years and many voyages, Will has found in BLUE ANGEL a vessel that he feels will make an excellent platform for continuing to help people explore the world and their sailing goals.

As a USCG Master of 1600 ton vessels on any Ocean, Will has served as Captain on vessels in New Zealand, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Atlantic Canada/Newfoundland, and along the East and West coasts of the USA.

As the Captain of Maine Maritime Academy’s Sail Training Vessel, the Arctic Schooner Bowdoin, for 6 years Will oversaw training voyages along the East Coast of the USA and throughout the Canadian Maritimes up to Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland.

As the Senior Chief Mate on the Robert C. Seamans (134 foot Brigantine), Will spent 3 years conducting sail training voyages around the Pacific Ocean from New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii, Pheonix Islands, Samoa, Wallis and Futuna, and Fiji.

Will’s experience includes time as Chief Mate aboard the Pride of Baltimore II (157 foot topsail schooner) sailing through all the Great Lakes, and SSV Corwith Cramer ( 134 foot Brigantine) for a Transatlantic voyage.

Will’s other experience includes time spent sailing in the Bahamas, through the Caribbean islands, Western Europe, and the Mediterranean.
